Retiring Home Directories

In early June, we retired student Home Directories and moved all files to students’ home directories files to their Google Drives. As we continue with remote learning for fall, we are delighted to announce that we are proactively moving all employees’ home directory documents to Google Drive. We will begin the migration on August 20, any individual with a Home Directory that contains files will be moved to their Google Drive. Allowing them access to the files anywhere they have access to Google Drive. 

A Zip file with the naming convention FIT_HOMEDIR_FIRSTNAME_LASTNAME.zip will be added to those individuals Google “My Drive” location. Once you see a Home Directory zip file follow the step-by-step instructions at Accessing Migrated FIT Home Directory.  

Beginning August 20, any individual accessing campus computers whether in-person or remotely with VPN or FIT Remote Labs will no longer see a home directory.
