Setup and Use a Yubico Security Key

1. In a new tab, navigate to https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info

2. If prompted, sign in to your account.
Click on your email address if provided or enter your FIT email address
Enter your FIT password, then click “Sign in”
Optional click “Don’t show this again”, then click “Yes”

3. Click “Add sign-in method”

4. Click “Security key”

5. Click “Next”

6. Select your option to “Verify your identity”

7. Click the “Code” field and enter the code you received. (optional check the box “Don’t ask again for 14 days”

Then click “Verify”
Click “Don’t ask again for 14 days”
Click this button.

8. Click “USB device”

9. Click “Next”

10. Insert and touch your security key.

Touch the touch sensor gold circle (the metal contact pad) on the front of the device.

Note: The touch sensor isn’t biometric, it doesn’t scan or recognize your fingerprint. It just confirms your physical presence when authenticating (proof you’re a human, not a remote attacker).

11. Set up a PIN for your security key. Make it something you can remember. Then click next.

12. Touch your security key again.
Note the images presented are to show where to touch the security key, when doing this step the security key must be plugged into the computer.

13. You will be redirect to the Microsoft set up page.
Name your Security Key and click “Next”

14. Click “Done”
