Brightspace is FIT’s learning management software (LMS) for online, blended, and remote learning courses.

Why don't I see my course in Brightspace?

For students: All courses are entered in Brightspace, but instructors need to activate the course before students can access it. Online courses open one week before the start of the semester/session. Other courses will be accessible as soon as the instructor opens the course, if the instructor chooses to use Brightspace for the course.  For instructors: Brightspace automatically creates course shells once your name has been entered into Banner for the course (it can take up to 24 hours to update). If you do not see your course listed on your homepage, please contact your department secretary to check/update Banner.

Logging In

To log in to Brightspace, go to in your web browser. (DO NOT add “www” to the address.)

Enter your FIT Username and Password (the same credentials as you use for MyFIT and Google Workspace).

Once you have entered your credentials, click Sign in.

Using Brightspace

The SUNY Online Support Services Help Desk provides primary support for Brightspace for FIT.

Current students, faculty, and staff may contact SUNY Online for any questions specifically related to online courses on the college’s Brightspace website.
