• Can I connect to SpectrumU using my TV with a Coaxial Cable?

  No, FIT is replacing the traditional cable TV service with streaming TV service with SpectrumU.

• Can I connect with Chromecast, Roku Streaming Stick, Firestick, or other streaming devices?

  At this time, SpectrumU at FIT can be used with devices that can connect to FITAIR; Chromecast, Roku Streaming Stick, and Firestick are not compatible to FIT’s network. Roku devices that have an Ethernet connection option are compatible with a wired connection.

  The Division of Information Technology is working to extend support to more devices at FIT.

• Can I use SpectrumU off-campus?

  Yes, however, due to programing restrictions, some channels and content is unavailable. For full content, you must be connected to FITAIR.

  When you are not connected to FITAIR a message will appear encouraging you to connect to Campus WiFi for more.

  

• Can I select shows to record and watch later?

  DVR capabilities are not available with SpectrumU. However, SpectrumU allows you to watch more than 7,000 hours of on-demand content including previous episodes, full series, hit movies, and more. You will not be able to select shows to add to the on-demand content.

• Do I have to sign in every time I want to stream tv?

  After you sign in for the first time SpectrumU, an authentication token is issued for approximately two weeks, so you won’t have to sign in again until it expires.*

  *Clearing cache, changing passwords, performing updates, and other factors may cause your authentication token to expire early.

• Can I cast or use mirroring to watch SpectrumU on my TV?

  At this time, SpectrumU at FIT can be used with supported apple, android, and fire mobile devices and through supported web browsers on a computer. The Division of Information Technology is working to extend support to more devices at FIT. Note: Roku has removed the Spectrum TV app from the Roku Channel Store. • I can’t connect, what do I do?
  1. Are you a current resident living in the Residence Halls? SpectrumU services are only available to current residents living in one of the Residence Halls (Alumni, Coed, Nagler, or Kaufman).
  2. Check to see if there is planned maintenance or an service incident by visiting the System Status page.
  3. Are you connected to FITAIR? 
  4. Can you sign in to MyFIT? 
  5. Can you access SpectrumU on another device? 
  6. Unable to resolve with the above suggestions, contact TechHelp. If TechHelp is closed, you may contact Spectrum at 888-812-2591 and press 1 for Technical Support.
