On February 4, Google plans to release an update to the Chrome browser that includes changes to how it handles cookies. These changes by Google are to enhance security on the browser but may result in you encountering errors on websites that use third-party cookies.
Web Developers have been making the appropriate changes to their sites to abide by Google’s new cookie policies, so the impact is expected to be minimal. Our teams at FIT have been testing and working with our vendors to ensure all our services remain functional after the change, as well as communicating any troubleshooting steps that may be required to appropriate user groups.
What can you do:
If you encounter unexpected errors or behavior on a website, for now, try another browser. Please note, Firefox and Edge are scheduled to make similar changes to how they handle cookies later this year.
