Yosemite Mac OS X 10.10 – Upgrade Warning
Late last year Apple released a new operating system called Yosemite (Mac OS X 10.10). Before upgrading FIT computers, the IT Department tests new operating systems with FIT systems and software to ensure functionality will be maintained. That is why we ask anyone with an FIT computer to please contact TechHelp before installing Yosemite. Without IT assistance you may lose software and data installed.
We understand that Apple is encouraging many people to upgrade to Yosemite, and many may choose to upgrade their non-FIT computer. Before you do, make sure you read the Apple Upgrade Requirements on Apple’s website at https://www.apple.com/osx/how-to-upgrade. Many personal computers lack 8GB of free storage that Apple requires for Yosemite to run properly. If your computer does not meet the Apple Upgrade Requirements, we strongly advise you not to perform the upgrade or you may find your computer will no longer function properly.
