“Why don’t I see my grades yet?”
A question we frequently receive at the end of the semester approaches. We know how important grades are to you. That is why we wanted to share our involvement in the process.
The Division of Information Technology assists the Office of the Registrar with making the links for grades available within MyFIT. We also help students with accessing their MyFIT account so that they can see their grades. Can’t log in to MyFIT, contact TechHelp.
Don’t see your grades yet; it might be because one or more of the following.
1. The Semester Isn’t Over
Grades are not available until after the semester ends. The last day of the Fall semester is December 21. Even if you have completed all your classes, the earliest possible date grades could be available is December 22.
2. Access to MyFIT is Unavailable for Planned Maintenance
The Division of Information Technology is continuing the practice of upgrading technology services and performing critical maintenance over the Winter Recess when the college is closed. MyFIT and other IT-supported services will be unavailable Tuesday, December 26 through Thursday, December 28.
3. Your Professor Hasn’t Submitted Your Grades Yet
Just like students have select dates to register for classes, FIT faculty have dates for submitting grades for their courses. January 3rd is the deadline to submit final grades for Fall 2017. It is possible you won’t see all your grades until January 4th due to the deadlines and scheduled maintenance. We know some classes end as early as December 5th, but please try to keep in mind that your professors need time to review all your (and all your classmates) hard work in before submitting grades. Also, note that grades in Blackboard must be manually re-entered and submitted by each faculty member with their final rosters to appear in MyFIT.
4. The Office of the Registrar Hasn’t Processed Your Grades
After your professor submits your grades, grades are then processed by the Office of the Registrar. This process is performed automatically four times a day at 9 am, 12 pm, 4 pm, and 8 pm starting December 21. However, it will not run Tuesday, December 26 through Thursday, December 28 while the Division of Information Technology performs critical planned maintenance.
If you can log in to MyFIT but have additional questions about your grades, please review the Office of the Registrar’s webpage on grades or contact them at 212-217-3820 or email FIT_Registrar@fitnyc.edu.
