Facilities have scheduled an electrical shutdown in the Business and Liberal Arts Center on Saturday, January 28, beginning at 10 pm and continuing through Sunday, January 29, at 6 am. The shutdown will allow FIT’s electrical contractor to complete an assessment of existing electrical service to the building in preparation for the replacement of the building’s fire pump later in the spring.
Although the shutdown is in the Business and Liberal Arts Center, electrical service to Dubinsky and the Feldman data center may be affected. For that reason, we are working with Facilities to ensure the data center will be powered during the shutdown with the backup generator. Additionally, we have scheduled to have Division of Information Technology staff on call and on campus on Sunday, January to assist with bringing IT services and equipment online.
