On Monday, November 14, Adobe released Adobe Creative Cloud 2017 (Adobe CC). We are aware there are compatibility issues between the latest release of Adobe CC and the version available in all labs and classrooms at FIT, Adobe CC 2015.5 (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
To address the compatibility concerns as well as alleviate the challenge a mid-semester software release has created for FIT faculty members who need time to evaluate and amend curricula, we are installing Adobe CC 2017 to run in addition to Adobe CC 2015.5 in all labs and classrooms; both versions of each application will be available. We are scheduling the installations to be completed for the start of the spring 2017 semester.
We are asking faculty members to communicate clearly to incoming students which version of Adobe CC they will be expected to use in their spring 2017 courses.
Instructions and Troubleshooting
Before you choose to upgrade, please speak to your instructors about the upgrade and be aware that having different versions of Adobe CC may interfere with your ability to complete projects on campus computers until we complete the installation of both versions of Adobe CC in FIT classrooms and computer labs.
Staff and Faculty
If you choose to upgrade, please keep in mind that FIT classrooms and computer labs will not have both versions of Adobe CC until the start of the Spring semester.
